Position Summary: Under the direction of the Chief of Innovation and the Founder/President, the
Director of Business is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing the company's human resources,
business, and development departments. This person acts as a liaison between our operations,
accounting, and expansion departments, external partners, ensuring smooth and efficient operations
while overseeing all financial aspects of business driving the company’s financial strategy and planning.
Position Responsibilities:
Business Functions
- Develops business operations by estimating, forecasting, and anticipating requirements, trends,
- Supports leadership by providing advice, counsel, and decisions; analyzing information and
- Collaborates with external and internal accounting teams to prepare timely and detailed reports
- Creates an annual operating budget and conducts analysis of financial risks and benefits of
- Oversees all audit and internal control operations.
- Manages establishes and executes contracts with vendors/partners
- Ensures the organization's compliance is up to date with internal and external insurance
regulations and renewals, and files annual compliance reporting with state, federal and local
government entities.
- Well-versed and comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements
- Support with issuing estimates and invoices to school districts and partners
- Additional tasks as assigned
Development Functions
- Develop multiple fundraising resource streams in excess of LTYC’s existing sources of funds
- Actively work with the Board, Development Team and LTYC staff to develop and implement a
comprehensive development strategy to include corporate, foundation, government grants, and
individual giving.
- Consistently and professionally publicize the activities of the organization, its
- Develop and execute an annual marketing plan to promote and drive constituents (school
through event sharing, community development and outreach, and sponsorship and
fundraising that results in increased revenue, participation, and partnerships.
- Serve as liaison to the media, preparing and planning press releases and pitching relevant
feature stories.
- Support in creating marketing materials for LTYC including website and social media updates,

HR Functions
- Develops and Implements strategies by establishing organization accountabilities, including
succession planning, employee relations and retention, DOL compliance, and labor relations.
- Participates and conducts staffing events, interviewing, and transition meetings
- Enforces corrective action plans, leadership reviews, and supervision
- Develops organization strategies by identifying and researching issues and challenges;
contributing information, analysis, and recommendations to organization strategic thinking and
direction; establishing human resources objectives in line with organizational objectives.
- Oversight, implementation of processes, and tracking of all personnel documentation including,
records, files, etc.
- Updates and creates of all HR documentation such as staff manuals and handbooks
Minimal Qualifications:
- Business Administration or MBA Degree (preferred)
- Preferred experience working in nonprofit leadership
- Preferred experience supervising teams and leading and collaborating with Executive Leadership
- Strong knowledge of project-based software ie. Quickbooks, Monday.com, Instrumentl
- Impeccable strategic thinking and analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and abilities.
- Attention to detail with the ability to meet tight deadlines and streamline processes
- Excellent computer skills to operate computers and possess basic knowledge of MS Windows,
- Excellent supervision, managerial, and organizational skills.
- Positive attitude, high level of professionalism, enthusiasm, and customer service

Availability: Must be available for occasional evening or weekend events.
