Job Title: Business Operations & Accounts Manager

Location Remote position from August 15 to June 15 annually, with up to 30 days of travel for board meetings, conferences, and project oversight.

The average workweek is Tuesday - Saturday from 12:00 PM EST - 9:00 PM EST

Required full-time on-site work at Georgetown University during Summer Internship Programs from June 22nd - August 8th.

Position Type: Full-time

Compensation:

Salary: $65,000 per year

Bonus: $10,000 upon completing each summer contract, paid on August 9th, 2025.

Benefits: 21 days of paid leave per year, 401(k) matched at 8%

Job Summary

Leadership Initiatives is seeking a dynamic and highly organized individual to serve in a combined role as a Business Operations & Accounts Manager. This multifaceted position requires a proactive, detail-oriented professional capable of managing day-to-day office operations, data management, and overseeing financial transactions with accuracy and efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, be adept at multitasking, and thrive in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accounts Management:

    • Aid in the management of the organization's financial transactions, including invoices, receivables, and payments.

    • Maintain accurate records of financial activities and ensure compliance with accounting policies.

    • Work closely with leadership to prepare budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.

    • Ensure that all payments are processed on time and financial records are up-to-date.

Office and Data Management:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the office, ensuring a smooth, organized work environment.

  • Coordinate internal meetings, staff communications, and scheduling to maintain efficient workflows.

  • Handle administrative tasks such as managing incoming calls, emails, and correspondence.

  • Implement office systems and procedures to improve efficiency and productivity.

  • Aid in data management systems tracking over 2000 participants and various recruitment avenues.

Summer Duties Include

The Onsite Manager for a 2,000-person summer internship program at Georgetown University plays a critical role in ensuring everything runs smoothly over the five weeks of programming. This person will coordinate daily meal logistics, working closely with catering teams to accommodate dietary needs and resolve issues like shortages or timing conflicts. They’ll also manage the setup and breakdown of event spaces, lead daily team meetings to assign tasks, and maintain clear communication with vendors to ensure services and supplies are delivered on time. Quality control is key; whether it’s inspecting dining areas, dorms, or event spaces, the manager will make sure everything is clean, functional, and ready to go. Each day, they’ll document operations, track inventory, and provide detailed updates to program leadership.

This role requires strong organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication is a must for working with staff, participants, and vendors, along with the ability to think on your feet to solve problems as they arise. Attention to detail is essential, especially when managing dietary accommodations and coordinating logistics for such a large group. The ability to stay calm and adaptable during high-pressure situations is critical. The role can be physically demanding and requires someone who is energetic, proactive and committed to creating a positive experience for everyone involved.

Qualifications

Educational Requirements

  • Minimum: High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Preferred: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Data Analytics, or a related field.

Professional and Technical Skills

  • Data Management: Skilled in organizing, storing, and retrieving data efficiently.

  • Accounting Knowledge: Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and practices; experience in financial record keeping.

  • Spreadsheet Proficiency: Advanced user of Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets for data management, manipulation, and troubleshooting.

  • Written Communication: Competent in drafting professional correspondence and responding to inquiries.

  • Customer Service: Proficient in client interactions, offering solutions with professionalism.

  • Group Leadership and Management: Proven ability to oversee teams, manage workflows, and ensure compliance with objectives.

  • Critical Thinking: Experienced in analyzing complex problems and delivering effective solutions under tight deadlines and in stressful environments.

Physical and Interpersonal Requirements

  • Physical Labor: Capable of moving equipment weighing up to 50 pounds for up to an hour and performing repetitive tasks with accuracy.

  • Flexibility: Adaptable to work evening shifts and adjust to changing priorities.

  • Adaptability: Comfortable in casual communication settings while maintaining professionalism.

  • Ability to Work Long Hours: Ability to work long hours for five weeks during the Summer Internship Programs.
