The Leadership Learning Center at St. John Bosco Church in East Little Havana, Florida has an opening for a full time Curriculum Manager . The Curriculum Manager’s primary responsibility is to develop and coordinate instructional material, content, and activities for the program in compliance with agency policies and procedures, regulatory requirements, funding stipulations and accreditation guidelines. The position oversees, coordinates, and implements all educational services and reports to the Executive Director. The Curriculum Manager brings congruency to the educational activities, develops teaching staff, and provides effective and nurturing teacher-child interactions. The candidate plans and implements learning effectively with use of curricula and assessments that promote children’s progress and builds respectful, culturally responsive, and trusting relationships with families. The Curriculum Manager performs all responsibilities and duties in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Miami.
Hours: 10 a.m.- 6:00 p.m.
Essential Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Coordinate educational activities, school-wide, engaging participation from all direct care staff.
- Plan and coordinate school spirit activities, special projects, educational fairs, and other events in collaboration with Manager of Operations and Executive Director.
- Monitor and review teacher’s lesson plans and conduct monthly classrooms feedback reports.
- Conduct monthly observation of the team to identify skill gaps. Make recommendations and provide feedback accordingly.
- Oversees the flow of activities to establish classroom routines.
- Identify students underperforming to place in Dual Language Immersion.
- Monitor and review the educational plan of students with disabilities in each classroom, keeping a log of these students in each classroom.
- Inform the Certified teachers and aides of students needing DLI.
- Ensure appropriate child-adult ratios are always met.
- Mentor/coach teaching teams showing them appropriate strategies and resources.
- Monitor and counsel educational staff and takes appropriate corrective action when needed.
- Prepare and monitor-teaching staff work schedule, vacation, sick and leave requests following established procedure.
- Design, develop, and implements teacher training programs for teaching staff.
- Inform certified teachers and T.A.s about new educational requirements and standards from grantors, accreditations and regulating agencies.
- Integrate, train and On-board new teaching staff on their duties and responsibilities.
- Assist the executive director in the performance evaluation process for teaching staff.
- Oversee the timely implementation and completion of assessments and screenings conducted by teaching staff and corresponding record keeping.
- Maintain positive relationships and collaboration with other educational partners of LLC, such as The Advocacy Network on Disabilities, and FIU Summer Reading Explorers.
- Assist in the enforcement of all school rules in and out of the classroom.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited college or university; a minimum of 3 years as an active teacher. Supervisory experience highly preferred.
- Florida Three-Year Temporary or Five-Year Professional Teaching Certificate, preferred.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish-must be able to read, write and understand English well.
- FDLE back-ground check.
- Skilled in curriculum development.
- Strong leadership skills in effective team building, decision making, and communication.
- Ability to supervise, mentor and train instructional staff to accomplish higher academic and educational outcomes.
- Strong organizational, project management and time management skills.
- Knowledgeable with data tracking using instructional technologies, such as Excel and other.
- Demonstrated history of maintaining confidentiality concerning school matters.
- Must be resilient and maintain objectivity in challenging situations.
- Ability to design and lead workshops, trainings, and discussions.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with diverse cultures and abilities.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
