Position Overview:
The Licensed Specialist in School Psychology (LSSP) at Leadership Prep School will provide comprehensive psychological services to support the academic, emotional, and social development of our students. The LSSP will collaborate with educators, parents, and administrators to create a nurturing environment that aligns with LPS's mission and values.
Key Responsibilities:
Assessment and Evaluation:
- Conduct formal psychological evaluations to determine special education eligibility and inform educational planning.
- Administer and interpret assessments to evaluate intellectual, emotional, and behavioral functioning of referred students.
Intervention and Support:
- Develop and implement behavior management plans and crisis intervention strategies.
- Provide counseling and support services to students facing academic or behavioral challenges.
Consultation and Collaboration:
- Work closely with teachers, parents, and administrators to develop effective strategies that address students' needs.
- Participate in Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) committees to develop and review Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
Compliance and Professional Development:
- Ensure services are in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Stay abreast of best practices and emerging trends in school psychology.
Qualifications:
- Master's or Doctoral degree in School Psychology or a related field.
- Valid Texas licensure as a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology (LSSP) as issued by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists.
- Experience in conducting psychological assessments and interventions in a school setting.
- Strong understanding of special education laws and regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Salary and Compensation:
- Minimum salary: $335 per day
- 176-day calendar
