Job Description
Overview
The Director of Nursing is responsible for leading and supervising a nursing unit. This position is ultimately responsible and accountable for the nursing care received by residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Directing the nursing program, including implementing new policies and procedures when necessary
- Overseeing hiring, firing, and development of nursing staff
- Communicating with families, residents, and physicians as needed
- Developing a business plan for the nursing unit
- Participating in creating resident care plans and ensuring they are followed
- Ensuring the nursing unit is compliant with all local, state, and federal regulations
Ideal Candidate Profile
Ideal candidates will have:
- Registered Nurse license in the state of Oregon
- Previous experience as a clinical leader/ manager at least 6 months
- Knowledge of Skilled Nursing Facility regulations both State and Federal
- Stable tenure in prior jobs
- Measurable track record of success as shown through Survey results, stable staff retention rates, high or increased census numbers, etc.
- Affinity for seniors & desire to see them well cared for and served
