OverviewWe are seeking an innovative physician-scientist with expertise in Clinical Research, focusing on the Cardiovascular therapeutic area. This role involves early clinical development, including target nomination, collaboration with Research teams, and driving translational research and biomarker strategies.You will provide clinical leadership, linking Research, Clinical Development, and Commercial teams, and help shape the strategy for the Cardiovascular Therapeutic Area. The role also involves guiding clinical development decisions, advising on novel targets, and collaborating with external experts. While focused on cardiovascular therapeutics, there may be opportunities to work in other areas.Key ResponsibilitiesLead strategically, offering a science and data-driven clinical research perspective for early-stage projects and programs.Provide expert guidance to the Research team on decisions with significant clinical implications.Contribute clinical research insights (e.g., indication, patient population, FIH / POC plans, Go / No-Go criteria) to internal governance / board meetings to assess new targets and development candidates.Collaborate closely with Research, Early Development, Regulatory Affairs, Commercial, and other teams to ensure alignment on early clinical development plans.Take ownership of establishing the biomarker strategy for the Cardiovascular therapeutic area.Serve as a medical monitor or Clinical Development Sub-Team (CDST) lead on assigned clinical programs / studies, with overall accountability for the clinical development plan.Engage with external opinion leaders to shape and refine clinical development strategies.Participate in business development activities and licensing due diligence, providing senior-level expertise.QualificationsThe ideal candidate is a driven, dynamic, and accomplished physician-scientist with significant experience in translational clinical research. Qualifications include : MD or MD / PhD with Board Certification (or equivalent) in Medicine; specialization in Cardiovascular Medicine is preferred.5 years of experience in translational medicine within the Pharma / Biotech sector, with a focus on driving translational research from FIH to POC studies.Proven ability to develop comprehensive clinical development plans (CDPs) and navigate internal governance boards to secure strategic approval, including biomarker strategies.Strong medical monitoring skills, with sound scientific and clinical judgment.Experience leading cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment, successfully influencing stakeholders across Research, Clinical Development, and Commercial teams.A strategic thinker, able to create innovative solutions, network with leading experts, and present complex ideas clearly to drive impactful outcomes.Experience working with strategic alliances in Biotech / Pharma partnerships is a plus.Thrives in an entrepreneurial biotech setting and embraces a culture of scientific innovation, excellence, and urgency.#J-18808-Ljbffr
