Title: Assistant Editor, Food Network Social Convergence
Contract Duration: 6 Months
Location: New York , NY 10003 (Hybrid)
Pay rate: $43- $45/hr on W2
Job Description:
Purpose of this team:
Team works across departments, talent relations, pr, programming, video, marketing, branch creative. We are responsible for creating social first content for social platforms that convert viewers to linear.
The Job:
The main function of a content editor is to research, proofread, and publish both traditional and digital media.
Description:
- This food-obsessed assistant editor will report to the VP, Social and Convergence and work across Food Network’s social convergence team. He or she will have a hands-on role on our team working on both flat and video projects to drive linear network ratings.
- A daily workflow would consist of writing social copy across Food Network, creating memes and highlight reels to support priority shows, and screening episode footage to suggest video creations. This person should be able to manage several projects and timelines at once, and be comfortable working across multiple teams as the role intersects editorial, video, social, programming and talent relations. He or she will have a direct hand in supporting Food Network’s primetime TV series through daily publishing of social-first promotional content across Food Network’s social platforms.

Small but mighty team, collaborative and a lot of idea sharing, a lot of people brainstorming.
Key projects: Likely be assigned shows to manage, given what is airing in the summer.

Daily Responsibilities:
Technology requirements: Adobe premier
Degree or certifications required: Bachelors in related field
Years experience: 1-3
Skill: Adobe Premier and photoshop – Basic proficiency
Skill: 1-3 years of content creation
Nice-to-Haves:
- Social Savvy, know the social platforms in and out
- Knowledge of Food Network programs
- Experience in entertainment is good
- Detail oriented
