Job Overview: We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse to join our school team. As a Get Well Place Nurse, you will utilize the nursing process and current pediatric clinical knowledge to provide professional nursing care for children in the Get Well Place and LeafSpring School.

Responsibilities:

• Serves as a child health resource for LeafSpring School and assists with daily health observations of children in the school.
• Facilitates integration of children with special needs into the school setting.
• Performs staff employment physical, tuberculin screening and ongoing evaluation and counseling regarding employee health, as needed.
• Assists the Get Well Place Coordinator in providing continuing health related education for LeafSpring School and Get Well Place employees.
• Maintains compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and LeafSpring School standards.
• Assesses each child on admission using the Daily Admission Form and admits according to Get Well Place admission criteria.
• Implements a plan of care and nursing interventions for all Get Well Place admissions, providing guidance, as needed.
• Administers or supervises administration of all medications necessary for children in LeafSpring School or the Get Well Place.
• Maintains standard of infection control and cleanliness set forth in the LeafSpring School/Get Well Place Policy and Procedure Manual.
• Documents assessment, plan of care and nursing interventions in a clear, concise and timely manner.

Compensation:

• Salary range $20.50-$24.00 (LPN)
• Salary range $25.00-$27.50 (RN)

Requirements:

• Valid Virginia Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse license
• Degree from an accredited institution or school
• Experience in pediatric nursing is a plus
• Proficient in use of the Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with children, families, and LeafSpring team members

Expected Hours: Approximately 15 hours per week, typically consisting of one full day and one half day. Scheduling flexibility is required to accommodate shift adjustments and provide coverage during other nurses’ vacations.
