Position Description
A Deployment Specialist installs, configures, and preps computers, tablets, phones, and peripherals for deployment via manual installation or through system imaging solutions. Additionally, the Deployment Specialist handles all new user onboarding tasks, research hardware and technology solutions and provides best practices recommendations to clients.

Essential Job Functions

- Configures and deploys computers using tools such as Dell Image Assist and other imaging systems.
- Ensures user onboardings are completed on time and follows all documentation and checklists to ensure full user access and functionality.
- Troubleshoots computer equipment and analyzes user requests or requirements to understand and fix major and minor computer issues.
- Installs or assists in installing hardware and peripheral components such as monitors, keyboards, printers, and disk drives on the user’s premises.
- Loads software packages such as operating systems, Microsoft 365, antivirus, or remote monitoring programs onto computers as specified by user standards and requirements.
- Updates, edits, and maintains all documentation by updating relevant changes, documenting all new implementations or processes, and creating walkthroughs to aid other team members.
- Performs quality control checks of computer systems and other hardware being deployed to ensure the user has access to all systems and all applications are properly installed and operational.
- Enters commands and observes system functions to verify correct system operation.
- Responds to user inquiries concerning systems operation and diagnoses system hardware, software, and operator problems which are impacting performance and productivity.
- Coordinates with colleagues in the hardware department to maintain internal inventory for clients and for LeafTech.
- Performs data backups for client and internal computers using backup software and internal tools
- Maintains awareness of current common hardware components and their differences (processors, RAM, SSD/HDD, graphics card technologies, workstations, laptops, tablets, phones, etc.).
- Instructs and trains users in the use of equipment, software, and applications.
- Provides updates, status, and completion information to manager, documents all time and work in the ticketing system, and maintains constant communication with users via phone, e-mail, text, or in-person communication.
- Assists with internal tickets and projects related to improving documentation for internal systems and external users and clients.
- Manages and facilitates the hardware recycling efforts for internal and external users/hardware.
- Assist clients with after-hours support requests by working a rotating schedule of evening, weekend, and Holiday technical support.

Additional Duties & Responsibilities
- Deployment Specialists are expected to maintain an average of six (6) billable hours per day.
- Track all time worked and notated in LeafTech ticketing system in real-time with professional language and attention to detail.
- Manage, maintain, and monitor individual ticket and department queues daily.
- Maintain (new or repurposed) computer deployment error rate at or under 5%
- Participation in company projects, meetings, and objectives.
- Traveling to client sites within the US to assist with projects and meet user needs.

Education / Experience / Certification Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required
- Two Years of IT (Information Technology) or related experience
- Experience working in the professional services industry
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience configuring and deploying Macs/Apple
- Experience working in organizations of 25 – 50 employees
- Previous experience working for a Managed Service Provider
