It is a groundbreaking time for volleyball in the US with our historic triple Olympic Gold medals in Women's Indoor, Beach and Sitting Volleyball. Volleyball is already the #1 most played girls' youth sport. There are 38M current and former players today. Of major sports, it's the only one that is women-first (~90% of players are female). But the volleyball market has been almost entirely missed by traditional sports investors, brands and media.
LOVB will capture this opportunity by creating a strong club business and from that built-in audience and fandom create the best Pro League in the world and use a digital media platform that will connect all aspects of LOVB. The Role:
The Role:
As the Local Events & Operations Coordinator, you will have supervisory experience for game day staff and volunteers. This position is a seasonal contract position and requires nights and weekends to staff and prepare all home events in Omaha, NE In addition, your responsibilities will include:
- Game Administrator: Serve as game administrator for home competitions; Act as a primary resource for visiting teams, addressing their needs before, during, and after competitions; Responsible for all competition day set-ups of team areas, including scheduling planning meetings, coordinate and communicate with needed event staffing and ensure all tasks are competed to standard on competition day.
- Team practice facility scheduling: Serve as liaison between the PRO Director of Volleyball Operations and Club Director to ensure PRO training and facility use times are reserved and compatible with venue/club schedules; Work through facility and equipment requests that arise from PRO staff.
- Volleyball Operations at events: Directly supervise, hire, and evaluate game day staff and volunteers in volleyball operations. ; Collaborate with the Events Staff to develop home event plans and how they impact team operations, inclusive of production timelines, staffing plans, action items and deadlines; Participate in post-event evaluation meetings with Central Staff, events staff and Director of Volleyball Operations; Oversee team match technology set-up and implementation; Assist set-up and organize in match replay and video capturing technology. Serve as liaison for VolleyStation on game day.
Additional Information
- This position will be required to work nights and weekends and available for all home competitions between January and April (4 weekends in season 1).
- This position is seasonal and will start 10/7/2024, continuing through 4/7/25. Screening of candidates, interviews and an eventual offer will start immediately to ensure the candidate of choice can successfully transition into the role.
Location
● This position is based in Omaha, Nebraska. There is no relocation package.
● Reports to the Head of PRO Volleyball Operations, located in North Carolina.
