We are currently seeking a full-time BEHAVIOR TECHNICIAN for our residential program in Walpole. Work schedule will be Sunday-Thursday; hours on two days are 2pm-10pm, and two days 12pm-8pm, and the one weekend day will be flexible, either 8am-4pm or 12pm-8pm. Hourly pay is $24.30 - $25.85 depending on experience and degree status. 

 

Position Requirements:

 

  • Associate’s degree in related field preferred
  • At least 1 year of experience with autistic population and behavior intervention 
  • Safety Care, CPR and First Aid certifications (training provided if necessary)
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Must pass CORI background check.

 

Supervision Received:    Residential Director

 

Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

 

  1. Performs in a professional manner at all times in all aspects of work.
  2. Staffs classrooms as needed, either in the role of assistant teacher or 1:1.
  3. Serves as a model for staff in Safety-Care techniques and treating challenging behavior.
  4. Demonstrates fluency in students’ support plans of students within his/her assigned program.
  5. Trains school/residential staff in the implementation of students’ individual behavior programs, as assigned by Residential Managers.
  6. Monitors, collects and records data regarding student behavior programs on a regular basis.  
  7. Provides necessary behavior intervention for students throughout the residence and in the community.  Implements student behavior programs:  positive reinforcement, breaks, time outs, etc., as appropriate for each individual student in the residential setting.
  8. Develops a therapeutic and effective relationship with students:  tailors interventions to individuals, uses appropriate voice modulation, sets reasonable boundaries with communication and actions, etc.
  9. Assists staff in completing Incident Reports, Accident Reports, Restraint Reports, etc., and facilitates all necessary notifications.
  10. Attends relevant meetings pertaining to residential students. Comes prepared, in a timely manner, to discuss issues and program development.
  11. Participates in all League School trainings.
  12. Performs other related duties, as designated by the BCBA, Residential Managers, Residential Clinician, and/or Director of Residential Education which are deemed necessary for the operations.

 

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Google mail, and the Microsoft Office suite.
