Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Care Workers to provide essential support and care to individuals with varying needs. As a Direct Care Worker, you will play an integral part in delivering personalized care in a home or facility setting, ensuring that each client receives the attention and assistance they require.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct personal care to clients, including assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Support clients with meal preparation and light housekeeping.
- Monitor and document clients' health status and report any changes to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
- Assist clients with mobility needs, including lifting and transferring as necessary.
- Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote social interaction and cognitive stimulation.
- Offer companionship and emotional support to enhance clients' well-being.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, adhering to health and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Qualifications
- Experience in caregiving or direct care roles is preferred; familiarity with memory care, dementia care, hospice care, or home health is a plus.
- Knowledge of client needs and the ability to recognize changes in client conditions.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Physical capability to lift clients and assist with mobility as needed.
- A compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
- Certification in CPR/First Aid is advantageous but not mandatory; training may be provided.
- Must be able to pass background checks as required by state regulations.
