The Opportunity
The company is seeking a Director of Demand Planning to lead the forecasting and demand planning function during a pivotal stage of growth. This role will play a key part in building and operationalizing the S&OP process, translating brand ambition into forecast accuracy, inventory optimization, and supply chain performance.
This is a strategic leadership role for a candidate who thrives in a high-growth, fast-paced setting and brings both analytical depth and cross-functional influence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the demand planning strategy across all channels (DTC eCommerce, retail, wholesale), ensuring agile and responsive forecasting.
- Drive a scalable S&OP process that aligns sales, marketing, finance, and operations around a unified demand plan.
- Build and maintain forecasting models incorporating historical trends, commercial inputs, campaign cadence, and market intelligence.
- Analyze SKU-level performance to improve inventory health, manage product lifecycle, and support new product introductions.
- Partner closely with supply planning, logistics, merchandising, and commercial teams to support global fulfillment and revenue goals.
- Define and report on KPIs to track forecast accuracy, availability, service levels, and inventory efficiency.
- Lead tool implementation and optimization (e.g., ERP, demand planning platforms).
- Hire and develop a high-performance team as the function scales.
Candidate Profile
- 8 years of experience in demand planning, forecasting, or S&OP, ideally within high-growth consumer sectors (luxury, fashion, beauty, or DTC).
- Proven experience owning and scaling demand planning processes in fast-paced or startup environments.
- Deep knowledge of S&OP best practices and tools.
- Strong analytical acumen; advanced exposure to BI and planning tools
- Effective communicator and collaborator—able to balance data, business needs, and intuition.
- Entrepreneurial mindset and comfort with ambiguity; bias for action.
- Passion for craftsmanship, luxury branding, or design-driven businesses is a plus.
