Overview
We are seeking an experienced and customer-oriented Product Line Manager to oversee high-temperature processing operations for carbon and ceramic materials. This role involves managing relationships with a portfolio of 20 key customers to ensure their quality and delivery expectations are met or exceeded. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including planning, production, quality, and engineering, to deliver high-value solutions and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Job Duties
- Serve as the primary contact for 20 assigned customers, understanding their requirements and priorities related to high-temperature processing of carbon and ceramic materials.
- Deliver the annual sales budget for furnace services, preparing bids, pricing strategies, and proposals.
- Provide technical expertise during customer discussions and visits.
- Lead SIOP processes, serving as the project manager for product line reviews.
- Develop and refine forecasting processes using statistical models, AI tools, and market trends.
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, and engineering to align forecasts with market intelligence, product launches, and production planning.
- Adjust forecasts based on performance and market feedback, ensuring alignment with production schedules.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), such as forecast accuracy and inventory turns.
- Optimize inventory levels to balance service levels and costs.
- Implement strategies to enhance lead times and fulfillment rates.
- Identify and mitigate risks from slow-moving or obsolete inventory.
- Work with finance, marketing, and operations teams for integrated planning.
- Support decision-making in production planning, product introductions, and lifecycle management.
- Analyze historical data and market trends for refining product line models.
- Present forecasts and insights to senior management.
- Use Epicor software for efficient planning and accurate reporting.
- Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies in high-temperature material processing.
- Attend industry-specific trade shows to promote the company and build customer relationships.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize processing parameters and configurations.
- Oversee customer projects from initiation to delivery, ensuring on-time and within-scope completion.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Engineering, or related field (MBA or master’s degree preferred).
- 5 years of experience in product line or account management, preferably in industrial or manufacturing settings such as aerospace or automotive.
- Technical knowledge of high-temperature processing, furnaces, and material science (carbon and ceramic materials).
- Proven track record of managing high-value customer accounts in a B2B environment.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and Epicor ERP systems; project management tool experience is a plus.
- U.S. citizenship required.
Salary : $120,000 - $150,000
