POSITION DESCRIPTION
TITLE OF POSITION: Second Press Operator
REPORTS TO: Lead Press Operator and Director, Manufacturing

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
1) GENERAL PURPOSE
To perform the duties as a Second Press Operator (Sheet fed) for our sheet fed offset presses, as well as feeder responsibilities when needed.
2) ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Support First Press Operator by readying jobs and maintaining
quality during the press run.
Prepare paper, operate Automaton load turner, load and unload paper
from press
Assist in maintaining paper inventory, recording job information, and completing production reports
Help coordinate production jobs
Check and fill ink fountains, grease and oil units, clean and wash around press, and ink and coating fountains.
Perform preventative maintenance on press such as lubrication, replacement of small parts, cleaning and minor adjustments to rollers and other small moving parts.
Perform other tasks as requested by Lead Press Operator.

5) KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES NEEDED
Knowledge of feeding a press
Knowledge of printing processes and production quality standards
Mechanically inclined skills
Ability to work well as part of a team
Ability to communicate effectively to produce quality work on schedule
Ability to work on equipment
6) EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE NECESSARY
High School Graduate
Minimum 2 – 3 years experience as a Second Press Operator

8) WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL SKILLS NEEDED
Indoor manufacturing environment
Ability to stand all day, requires tasks standing, walking, and bending.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Works with hand tools weighing up to 10 pounds in positions above and below head, and extended from body, on a frequent basis.
Works with high noise levels
Visual requirements include hand/eye coordination and visual acuity in near/mid ranges
Manual dexterity, using both hands and fingers in handling and grasping, reaching with arms/hands
Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.
Non-Exempt/ Pay Range Min $22.00/hr Max $26.00/hr
