Leap Arts in Education was founded in 1979 to address the impact of California school budget cuts on arts in elementary education. We provide high-quality arts education programs that empower students to reach their greatest potential. Our vision is that art becomes an essential component of every child's education. Each year, Leap engages over 9,200 students across the Bay Area through visual and performing arts and architecture programs. Our organizational culture is dynamic, creative, strategic, principled, and equity-driven. We are looking for a hardworking, detail-oriented self-starter to join our small development department. The ideal candidate shares our commitment to Leap's mission, possesses a good sense of humor, and brings an entrepreneurial spirit to help expand our funding base. This role is crucial for increasing Leap's $925,000 budget in alignment with our three-year strategic plan.
Key Responsibilities
- Fundraising & Cultivation : Design annual and long-term fundraising strategies alongside the Executive Director and committees. Identify, cultivate, and solicit support from individuals and corporations, aiming to raise over $200,000 annually for our programs.
- Donor Engagement & Stewardship : Build strong relationships with new and existing donors, including corporate partners. Develop and execute planned giving and major gift initiatives, establishing multi-year giving strategies and recognition opportunities.
- Board Collaboration : Collaborate with the Board of Directors to meet organizational objectives, providing support for network mapping, marketing tools, and campaign initiatives. Lead the Development / Marketing Committee.
- Event Sponsorship & Coordination : Identify sponsorship prospects for fundraising activities, including year-end campaigns and special events. Secure corporate sponsorships for Leap's signature events.
- Administrative & Team Leadership : Maintain accurate donor records and acknowledgments. Engage in networking and public speaking events as required. Contribute to strategic planning as part of Leap's management team.

Compensation is hourly and commensurate with experience for this fractional / part-time position.
