Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead our financial operations and support the company's growth. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting background, preferably as a CPA (active status not required), and expertise in financial reporting, forecasting, and strategic analysis. As a hands-on leader, the CFO will play a critical role in managing the financial function, optimizing business processes, and driving financial excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee all financial functions, including accounting, financial planning & analysis (FP&A), treasury, tax, and reporting.
Direct and support the finance team, currently consisting of a Director of FP&A, Treasury staff, and an outsourced accounting provider, with the goal of transitioning accounting functions in-house.
Manage and execute the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
Develop and implement financial forecasting models to drive strategic decision-making and business performance.
Provide insightful financial analysis to support executive leadership in strategic planning and operational improvements.
Lead the transition of accounting functions from outsourced providers to an in-house team, ensuring a smooth and efficient process.
Establish and maintain robust financial controls, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance and mitigate risk.
Partner with other departments to identify cost-saving opportunities, efficiency improvements, and revenue enhancement strategies.
Prepare and present financial reports to the executive team and board of directors, offering clear insights and recommendations.
Oversee cash flow management, capital allocation, and financing strategies to support business growth.
Qualifications & Experience
CPA certification or background in public accounting (active status not required).
Strong technical expertise in accounting, financial reporting, forecasting, and strategic financial analysis.
10 years of progressive finance leadership experience, preferably in a high-growth or mid-sized company environment.
Hands-on leader with the ability to manage financial operations while also engaging in strategic initiatives.
Experience managing and building small finance teams; prior experience in transitioning accounting in-house is a plus.
Deep knowledge of GAAP, financial controls, and regulatory compliance.
Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen ability to identify and implement business improvements.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and influence key stakeholders.
Proficiency in financial systems, ERP software, and data analytics tools.
Salary : $225,000 - $270,000
