Project Manager – Solar and Battery Storage Construction Management
Job Summary: The Project Manager will oversee the planning, execution, and completion of solar and battery storage power projects. This role will focus on managing contractor relationships, ensuring compliance with project requirements, and maintaining project schedules and budgets. The Project Manager will work closely with senior leadership, team members, and stakeholders to maintain project momentum and deliver high-quality outcomes. The ideal candidate will have experience in construction management, contractor oversight, and renewable energy projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contractor Management:
- Manage relationships with contractors, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Monitor contractor performance to ensure adherence to project schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
- Conduct occasional site visits to verify progress and compliance with project plans.
- Work with internal team to process change orders
- Assist in implementing changes throughout construction process
- Project Coordination:
- Develop maintain project schedules.
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
- Develop and implement project plans including: execution, quality assurance, staffing, etc.
- Track and report on project milestones, risks, and issues.
- Lead efforts around various project permitting and compliance tasks.
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and progress reports.
- Prepare regular status updates for senior leadership.
- Ensure all project documentation complies with company and regulatory standards.
- Conduct project risk reviews
- Budget & Cost Control:
- Review contractor invoices and ensure alignment with project budgets.
- Track project costs and report any variances.
- Support the development of cost estimates and budgets for new projects.
- Quality Assurance & Safety:
- Ensure contractors comply with quality standards and safety protocols.
- Participate in safety audits and inspections to verify compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
- Report any safety or quality issues to senior management.
- Stakeholder Communication:
- Act as a liaison between contractors, internal teams, and external stakeholders.
- Facilitate meetings and ensure clear communication of project goals and expectations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree. Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field preferred.
- 5 years of experience in construction management, project management, or a related role.
- Experience in solar power projects or renewable energy is highly preferred.
- Certifications: PMP, CAPM, or other project management certifications are a plus.
- NABCEP or other renewable credential a plus.
Skills:
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of construction safety standards and regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
