Apprentice Electrician

Job Type: Contract
Pay: $18 to $23 per hour, depending on experience

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems including conduit, lighting fixtures, electrical panels, transformers, switches, and motors.
• Help install, bend, and remove conduit to accommodate wiring needs.
• Pull electrical wiring through conduit and connect it to circuit breakers, transformers, and outlets.
• Follow safety protocols when working with electrical systems, especially high voltage systems.

Qualifications:

• Some experience or training in electrical installations preferred.
• Basic understanding of electrical systems and components.
• Willingness to learn and follow instructions from experienced electricians.
• Possession of necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) and basic hand tools.
• Dependable and punctual, with a strong work ethic and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to talk or hear, sit, stand, bend, stoop, stretch, twist, use hands, and/or reach out for prolonged periods of time
• Must have manual dexterity, a good sense of balance, and excellent hand-eye coordination
• Use their hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls
• Must be able to climb stairs, ladders, and poles.
• Must be physically capable of pulling wires and cables through conduits.
• Must be able to work in inclement weather conditions 
• Must be able to work around wood dust and fumes 
• Maybe exposed to heights and loud noises 
• Must be able to see color to discern color-coded wiring
• Ability to lift and carry items up to 50 pounds.
• Must be aware of OSHA safety standards

Pay Transparency: A reasonable estimate of the available hourly pay scale for this position is $18 to $23 per hour. The actual compensation offered may vary depending on qualifications and other factors essential to the performance of duties and is determined by the hiring authority.
