Online SEL Skills Instructor

Leapstart is seeking experienced and dedicated Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Instructors to join our team in Cupertino, CA. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about teaching children life skills, such as healthy habits, money and time management, interpersonal skills, and communication skills. As a SEL Instructor, you will be responsible for working with TK-5th grade students during after-school hours, primarily in an online format.

Key Responsibilities:

• Planning and delivering curriculum focused on social emotional learning, including healthy habits, money and time management, interpersonal skills, and communication skills
• Facilitating online classes for groups of 8-12 children, engaging and keeping students active during the sessions
• Building positive relationships with parents, students, and staff
• Maintaining a safe and conducive online learning environment for children
• Demonstrating cooperation, flexibility, and teamwork
• Managing behavior according to school standards and expectations
• Keeping materials inventoried, organized, and in order

Position Requirements:

• Experience working with elementary school-aged children
• Knowledge of children's developmental stages and activities that are appropriate for each grade level
• Prior experience teaching children online
• Prior experience teaching children life skills or developing curriculum is great to have
• Strong understanding of Social Emotional Learning
• Flexibility, patience, and calm demeanor when working with children
• Excellent communication skills and organizational skills
• Willingness to go through a detailed background and fingerprinting check
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Must have fingerprints cleared and child abuse index prior to hire.
