What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mold PM Tech (Preventive Maintenance) position at Lear Corporation?
Mold PM Tech Essential Functions:
· Pack orders according to customer requirements.
· To clean and repair tooling and molds within plant capabilities, and perform preventative maintenance on tooling utilized in the manufacturing process
· Remove and replace tools from storage rack
· Disassemble tooling
· Clean, lubricate, and maintain internal and external components of tooling
· Replace broken or worn components
· Operate the fork truck and overhead cranes to transport and move dies and molds
· Analyze tooling issues and suggest corrective action
· Maintain the required tooling documentation
· Maintain work area based on 5s principles: everything has a place and everything is located in the correct place
Job Requirements
· Mechanical aptitude
· Knowledge of various types of materials and required processes i.e.: drying time
· Exerting up to seventy-five (75) pounds of force infrequently, thirty-five (35) pounds of force frequently
· Support all Lear environmental, quality, health and safety procedures and rules.
· Ensure that proper procedures are followed and the working environment is healthy and safe
· Work as a team with fellow employees and train new employees in the classification
· Maintains the work area in accordance with 5S standards.
· Complete additional tasks assigned by Shift Supervisor / Department Manager
Mold PM Tech Evaluations:
· Mold PM Tech trainee evaluation will be made on a weekly basis.
· Training will follow the training plan.
· There is a 60 day qualification period.
Working Conditions:
Degree of Physical Demands (Strength) usually associated with this classification:
· Lifting packages up to 75 pounds.
· Walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, and occasional crouching.
Environmental conditions (Physical Surroundings) usually associated with this classification:
· The associate is subject to environmental conditions common to a plant environment, including cramped conditions between presses and enclosures.
· Some exposure to loud noise and oil.
Environmental conditions (Hazards) usually associated with this classified:
· Exposure to Hi-Lo traffic, battery charger, possible cuts from material tail and banding, occasional exposure to wet or slippery dock plates.
