- Build and repair molds used in the production of plastic parts
- Interpret blueprints, sketches, and CAD/CAM files to determine mold specifications
- Operate various machinery and tools to fabricate mold components
- Use GD&T principles to ensure precise dimensions and tolerances
- Collaborate with engineers and designers to optimize mold design for functionality and manufacturability
- Conduct inspections using micrometers and other measuring instruments to verify accuracy of mold components
- Perform maintenance and repairs on existing molds to ensure optimal performance
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with molds during production
```Skills```
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools for mold fabrication and repair
- Strong knowledge of mechanical principles and understanding of tooling concepts
- Experience with CAM programming for CNC machining operations
- Familiarity with AutoCAD or other CAD software for mold design
- Knowledge of electrical discharge machining (EDM) for precision mold components
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and technical drawings
- Attention to detail and ability to work with tight tolerances
