Position Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator to join our team. The Estimator will play a critical role in our pre-construction process by accurately assessing project requirements, preparing cost estimates, and contributing to the overall bidding process. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in structural steel fabrication and a keen eye for detail.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze project specifications, drawings, and other relevant documentation to determine project scope and requirements.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for structural steel fabrication projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and overhead.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to gather necessary information and ensure accuracy of estimates.
- Evaluate and compare vendor and subcontractor quotes to determine the most cost-effective solutions.
- Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and recommend alternative approaches when appropriate.
- Prepare and submit detailed and accurate bids and proposals to clients.
- Maintain and update cost databases and pricing information to ensure current and competitive estimates.
- Review and respond to bid clarifications, addenda, and change orders.
- Assist in the development of project budgets and financial forecasts.
- Provide support during project negotiations and contract discussions as needed.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an Estimator in the structural steel fabrication or construction industry.
- Strong understanding of structural steel materials, fabrication processes, and industry standards.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
- Excellent mathematical and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
