We are seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking Senior Strategist to join our team. This role is integral in shaping high-level sponsorship strategies by analyzing brand objectives, market trends, asset utilization, and consumer insights to develop innovative, results-driven sponsorship solutions in the sports industry. As a senior leader within the team, you will drive the development of sophisticated brand strategies, oversee high-impact sponsorship activations, and serve as a key consultant for internal and external stakeholders. You will leverage Learfield’s diverse suite of digital platforms, traditional assets, data, and content to craft compelling, multi-dimensional sponsorship narratives that drive measurable outcomes for brands while maximizing property value.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Brand Analysis & Leadership: Conduct in-depth brand evaluations, interpreting client objectives, consumer behaviors, and industry trends to shape high-level sponsorship strategies that align with brand priorities and deliver measurable ROI.
  • Comprehensive Sponsorship Solutions: Design and lead the development of integrated sponsorship and activation platform concepts that maximize Learfield’s portfolio of assets, including digital, traditional, experiential, and data-driven solutions.
  • Advanced Narrative Development & Storytelling: Craft sophisticated, cohesive sponsorship narratives that not only align with brand messaging but also elevate the overall impact of sponsorship activations. Provide strategic storytelling expertise to sales teams and leadership.
  • Client-Facing Consultation & Presentation Excellence: Partner directly with sales leaders, properties, and clients to develop and present high-stakes sponsorship strategies, ensuring alignment with brand goals and reinforcing value-driven solutions.
  • Premium & Property-Specific Opportunity Development: Spearhead the creation of premium sponsorship decks and property-specific presentations that effectively communicate the strategic value of unique opportunities to senior-level stakeholders.
  • Strategic Ideation & Thought Leadership: Lead brainstorming sessions to generate fresh, cutting-edge sponsorship concepts, themes, and taglines that push the boundaries of sports marketing and enhance brand engagement.
  • Innovative Platform Creation & Optimization: Drive the evolution of sponsorship activation platforms, continuously refining and enhancing strategies based on market trends, emerging digital innovations, and data-driven insights.
  • Best Practices Implementation & Standardization: Establish and refine best practices for sponsorship presentations, ensuring consistency, effectiveness, and brand authenticity across all sales materials.
  • Asset Optimization & Visual Strategy: Strategically assess and optimize brand assets (logos, imagery, messaging) to enhance the visual impact and storytelling effectiveness of sponsorship materials.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership & Collaboration: Act as a strategic partner across internal creative, research, digital, and sales teams, ensuring the feasibility and execution of sponsorship concepts in a seamless and impactful manner.
  • Industry Trend Analysis & Competitive Insights: Stay ahead of industry trends, consumer behaviors, and competitive strategies, proactively advising internal stakeholders on emerging sponsorship opportunities and strategic shifts.

Qualifications

  • 7 years of experience in brand strategy, sponsorship marketing, advertising, or a related field, with a strong background in the sports, entertainment, or media industries.
  • Proven ability to lead strategic initiatives, develop high-impact sponsorship solutions, and effectively communicate complex brand narratives to senior-level stakeholders.
  • Exceptional storytelling, presentation, and persuasive writing skills, with expertise in crafting compelling sponsorship decks and proposals.
  • Strong command of PowerPoint and other presentation tools, with the ability to design visually compelling sales materials.
  • Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail, with experience managing multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to think creatively and strategically, offering innovative sponsorship solutions that drive revenue and brand engagement.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with internal teams and external clients, providing strategic consultation and leadership on sponsorship initiatives.
  • Deep understanding of digital platforms, content marketing, and traditional sponsorship assets, with a passion for emerging trends and data-driven decision-making.
  • Self-starter with the ability to take initiative, lead projects independently, and mentor junior strategists on best practices and innovation.
