Title: Azure Network Engineer
Location: Minneapolis, MN (Hybrid)
Duration: 6 Months extendable
Job Summary:
We are looking for a highly skilled Azure Networking Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in designing, implementing, securing, and managing network infrastructure on Microsoft Azure. You will play a key role in network security, compliance, automation, and hybrid cloud connectivity, ensuring a highly secure and scalable cloud environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Network Design & Architecture:
- Design and implement scalable, secure Azure network architectures.
- Configure Azure Virtual Networks, Subnets, and Network Security Groups (NSGs).
- Implement Azure Load Balancers, Application Gateway, and hybrid connectivity (VPN, ExpressRoute).
Network Security & Compliance:
- Apply network security best practices, including firewall rules, IPsec VPNs, and NSGs.
- Configure and manage Azure Firewall, Web Application Firewall (WAF), and security tools.
- Conduct security assessments, vulnerability scans, and implement remediation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards (SOC1/SOC2, GDPR, HIPAA) for cloud data security.
- Implement identity and access management (Azure AD, Unity Catalog) and secure sensitive data.
Network Monitoring & Troubleshooting:
- Monitor network performance, analyze logs, and resolve connectivity issues.
- Troubleshoot network performance issues, ensuring optimal uptime and security.
Automation & Scripting:
- Automate network provisioning and configuration using Azure CLI, PowerShell, or Terraform.
- Develop scripts to enhance efficiency and optimize network operations.
Collaboration & Support:
- Work closely with security, infrastructure, and development teams to ensure network requirements are met.
- Provide technical guidance and support to internal teams.
Qualifications & Required Skills:
- Expertise in network security frameworks, including encryption and key management for cloud environments.
- Strong knowledge of compliance standards (SOC1/SOC2, GDPR, HIPAA) for secure cloud infrastructure.
- Proficiency in configuring security tools like Azure Security Center, Snowflake RBAC.
- Experience with identity & access management (Azure AD, Unity Catalog).
- Hands-on experience in auditing and securing sensitive data across cloud platforms.
- Strong background in Azure networking solutions such as Virtual Networks, VPNs, ExpressRoute, NSGs, Load Balancers.
- Proficiency in Azure CLI, PowerShell, Terraform for automation and scripting.
