Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and multi-talented individual for the position of Full-Time Music Teacher & Office Staff Worker. This role combines teaching music to students of varying ages and skill levels with essential office support tasks, including preparing music folders, maintaining and repairing instruments, and managing the logistics of materials and instruments. This position will also require organizing and facilitating music classes and camps.
Key Responsibilities:Music Teaching & Camp Facilitation:
- Teach a variety of music classes & camps for students of all ages, ensuring a positive, engaging, and educational experience.
- Lead and organize music classes, camps and events, including planning, teaching, and overseeing students’ progress.
- Follow lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments tailored to the students' needs.
- Conduct individual and group lessons as well as camps in various music disciplines (e.g., instrumental, vocal, theory, etc.).
- Maintain an environment that promotes creativity, learning, and enthusiasm for music.
Office Staff Support:
- Prepare and organize music folders, sheet music, and instructional materials for classes and camps.
- Assist with the coordination and management of office duties related to music programs.
- Handle scheduling and communication with parents, students, and staff about classes, events, and camps.
Instrument & Equipment Management:
- Maintain, clean, and repair musical instruments as needed (e.g., keyboard, guitar, violin, drum and ukulele)
- Assist in the procurement and organization of materials and instruments for the music department.
- Pick up and drop off instruments and materials to and from locations (such as suppliers, various facilities, private locations or other schools).
Additional Duties:
- Participate in faculty meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities.
- Support special projects related to music education and school events as needed.
- Ensure a safe and organized music classroom and office environment.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Music Education, Music, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience: Previous teaching experience in music (classroom, private lessons, or group settings) is preferred.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in one or more musical instruments.
- Basic knowledge of music theory and pedagogical strategies.
- Ability to repair and maintain musical instruments (or willingness to learn).
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Comfortable with office tasks such as scheduling, document preparation, and coordination.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry musical instruments and materials (up to 25 lbs).
- Personal Traits:
- Passion for music education and working with students.
- Detail-oriented and able to multitask effectively.
- Flexible and adaptable in a dynamic environment.
Working Conditions:
- Standard working hours (Monday to Friday) with occasional mornings, evenings or weekends for camps, events, or performances.
- Some physical labor involved, including lifting, carrying, and assembling instruments.
- Travel Daily to different locations for classes and camps, etc.
