Program Overview
Learn with Lex, LLC is a private babysitting and tutoring program specifically designed for children with special needs. We offer personalized babysitting and educational services to children in our community who require more support than what is typically available in traditional settings. Position Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Childcare assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and a strong understanding of childhood development and special needs. This role involves providing a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for children of various ages, including those with developmental delays or disabilities. The childcare assistant will engage in activities that promote learning, social skills, and emotional growth while ensuring the well-being of each child.
Duties
- Supervise and engage with children in a safe and caring manner.
- Plan and implement age-appropriate educational activities that foster childhood development.
- Provide individual attention to children, especially those with special needs or disabilities.
- Manage behavior effectively using positive reinforcement techniques.
- Maintain a clean and organized play area, ensuring safety at all times.
- Assist with daily routines such as feeding, diapering, and cleaning/sanitizing.
- Communicate regularly with parents about their child's progress and any concerns in person and through our virtual program.
- Maintain first aid knowledge to respond to emergencies as needed and remain certified.
- Maintain all Pennsylvania State Clearances, a negative TB-Test result, and completion of Mandated Reporter Training.
Requirements
- Experience working with children in various settings (nannying, classroom, daycare).
- Knowledge of Autism, ADHD, and developmental delays.
- Understanding of childhood development principles.
- Ability to manage behavior effectively using appropriate strategies.
- Strong communication skills to interact positively with children and parents alike.
- Patience, creativity, and a genuine love for working with children.
- Maintain first aid knowledge to respond to emergencies as needed and remain certified.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $10.50 - $15.00 per hour
