Preschool Lead Teacher - NYS Certified

Position Overview:

The Lead Teacher plays a pivotal role in creating an engaging, supportive, and enriching learning environment for preschool-aged children. This role involves designing and implementing age-appropriate lesson plans, observing and assessing children's development, and building strong relationships with families. The ideal candidate is passionate about early childhood education, possesses strong classroom management skills, and is eager to contribute to our mission of providing a balanced, play-based learning experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver a weekly, theme-based lesson plan that promotes developmental growth.
• Create a classroom environment that encourages creativity, independence, and a love of learning.
• Foster social-emotional and cognitive skills through hands-on activities in math, literacy, science, art, and movement.
• Observe, assess, and document individual child development to inform teaching strategies and provide insightful feedback to families.
• Implement effective classroom management strategies to maintain a structured, yet flexible, learning environment.
• Regularly communicate with parents, sharing updates on children’s progress and upcoming school events.
• Collaborate with colleagues to continuously improve the curriculum and contribute to school events.

Qualifications:

• Required: New York State Teaching Certification in Early Childhood Education.
• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
• Proven experience in an early childhood education setting.
• Strong understanding of child development principles and effective classroom management.
• Excellent communication skills, with a warm and professional approach when working with families and colleagues.
• A commitment to professional growth and an interest in advancing to leadership roles.
