Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement weekly, themed lesson plans that support children’s developmental milestones across all areas—cognitive, social-emotional, and physical.
- Create an inviting, engaging classroom environment that sparks curiosity, creativity, and a lifelong love of learning.
- Facilitate interactive activities in subjects such as literacy, math, science, art, and movement to nurture children’s growth.
- Regularly assess and observe each child’s progress, tailoring your teaching approach to meet their individual needs, while providing constructive feedback to families.
- Manage the classroom effectively, maintaining a balance between structure and flexibility to meet the dynamic needs of young learners.
- Communicate regularly with parents, providing updates on their child’s progress and sharing classroom events and milestones.
- Work collaboratively with fellow educators to refine curriculum and contribute to school-wide initiatives and activities.
Qualifications:
- Required: New York State Teaching Certification in Early Childhood Education (B-2, N-6, or 1-6).
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Proven experience in an early childhood education setting.
- Strong knowledge of child development, as well as effective classroom management techniques.
- Excellent communication skills, with a professional, compassionate approach when interacting with both families and colleagues.
- A passion for lifelong learning, with a desire to continue growing as an educator and leader.
