Overview
The Education Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting the teachers in development of curriculum, classroom environment as well as professional development. This position involves overseeing all educational programs, providing support to teachers, children and families and ensuring that all programs align with the philosophy, educational approach and RI childcare licensing regulations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in early childhood education as well as experience training and supervising early childhood teachers working in an emergent curriculum.
Duties
- Collaborate with the Director and teachers to enhance teaching approach and the experience of each child.
- Model, support and evaluate educational programs and curricula that meet the needs of children.
- Organize workshops, seminars, and training sessions aimed at improving educational practices.
- Monitor teacher progress and provide training and support as necessary to promote professional development.
- Maintain accurate records of teacher performance and individual development plans for each teacher.
- Provide support, feedback and follow-up for teachers regarding the goals of their IDP as well as the philosophy of Learning Brooke.
- Ensure compliance with RI DHS childcare licensing regulations at all times.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Proven experience in early childhood education administration or coordination within a childcare setting.
- Strong understanding of early childhood development.
- Deep respect for children and families.
- Knowledge of the Reggio Emilia Approach and emergent/negotiated curriculum.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of people.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Proficient in using educational technology tools and software.

Pay: $48,608.00 - $51,502.00 per year
