What are the responsibilities and job description for the BUS / VAN DRIVER position at Learning Center of Northeast Arkansas?

Essential Job Functions :
Will drive center vehicles at appointed times.
Will keep bus clean and filled with gas.
Will keep adequate supervision on bus at all times.
Will keep parents / families advised of any necessary time changes, cancellations or other changes as needed.
Will report needed bus repairs and service needs to transportation supervisor.
Will utilize proper CPR / First Aid / emergency and safety procedures when necessary.
Will load and unload passengers with assistance of vehicle attendant (responsibility includes fastening and unfastening seat belts, securing and removing from car seat, locking and unlocking wheelchairs, and assisting with opening and closing of doors).
Will load and unload passengers’ adaptive seating equipment.
Will secure doors, seat belts, wheelchairs, tie downs, and other equipment to make sure program participants are secure before moving vehicle.
Will attend meetings and inservice training on request of director of services / administrative assistant.
Will maintain all required emergency / safety / client information and documentation on bus in designated folder.
Will maintain protection of client privacy regarding any information maintained by the organization regarding services and / or operations. Will access only client information needed for the implementation of activities required for this position.
