One full-time position- 2 : 00 p.m. - 10 : 00 p.m., Mon-Fri
General Summary :
This position is designed to provide all training and direct care for the residents of the David E. Puryear Center.
Essential Job Functions :
- Training and assistance with showers, brushing teeth, cleaning the house, laundry, recreational and educational activities.
- Will initiate residents’ activities as outlined in the monthly and daily schedules and will mark the program books appropriately.
- Assist clients with meal prep and clean up. DCAs will also provide proper examples for clients when eating and will sit at resident tables to model proper eating skills.
- Assist clients with laundry and ensure laundry is properly washed, dried and sorted. Also aides should check to make sure beds are changed regularly and proper laundry is provided for each client.
- Complete proper behavior reports on clients to provide good data for the QIDP.
- Maintain a safe environment for clients.
- Work as a team to provide services.
- Interact with clients throughout the shift while teaching them daily living skills.
- Speak to clients appropriately and treat them like you yourself would want to be treated.
- Report any necessary maintenance.
- Review and sign monthly in-service trainings.
- All other job duties as assigned.
- Clients should be encouraged to be as independent as possible. Please allow them to perform to their capabilities
- Will maintain protection of client privacy regarding any information maintained by the organization regarding services and / or operations. Will access only client information needed for the implementation of activities required for this position.
