Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and adaptable Substitute Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for fostering a positive learning environment and will be responsible for maintaining continuity in the classroom in the absence of the regular teacher. This role requires effective communication skills, a strong understanding of childhood development, and the ability to manage diverse classroom behaviors.
Duties
- Implement lesson plans provided by the regular teacher to ensure students continue their education seamlessly.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively, creating a respectful and productive learning atmosphere.
- Communicate clearly with students, staff, and parents regarding classroom activities and student progress.
- Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet the varying needs of students, including those with special education requirements.
- Support literacy education initiatives and assist students in developing reading and writing skills.
- Engage with students in preschool settings or private school environments as needed.
- Foster an inclusive environment for all students, including those on the autism spectrum or with other developmental challenges.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge of childhood development.
Qualifications
- Experience working with students in an educational setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of literacy education strategies and childhood development principles.
- Familiarity with special education practices and behavior management techniques.
- Ability to plan lessons that cater to diverse learning styles and needs.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with students, parents, and staff.
- Experience in preschool or private school settings is a plus.
- A commitment to fostering an inclusive classroom environment for all learners.
- A teaching certificate or educational background is a plus but not required.
