Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Establishes strong, supportive relationships with students through regular one-on-one check-ins.
Creates a welcoming and safe environment for all students to share concerns.
Demonstrates active listening and empathy during interactions with students.
Conducts needs assessments or surveys to identify individual and group challenges.
Monitors academic, emotional, and social well-being through data analysis including attendance, grades,
and behavior reports and provides updates to the Principal or designee of the principal
Monitors attendance and tardies at the school site and follows the school’s policy at the end of each
month providing a report to the Principal or designee of the Principal
Develops individualized plans for students facing academic or personal challenges.
Promotes policies and practices that ensure all students have access to resources
Delivers classroom lessons monthly on topics like coping strategies, conflict resolution, or mental health
awareness.
Offers small group counseling for students with similar concerns (e.g., grief, anxiety, study skills).
Maintains counseling notes on all individual and small group students
Facilitates crisis intervention protocols and connects students with appropriate community resources.
Uses the appropriate protocols for investigating, reporting, and documenting reports of bullying, threats
to/at the school, and reports of self-harm. Followed by providing recommendations to the principal
Works closely with teachers, parents, and administrators to create a network of support for students
Attends and contributes to Individualized Education Plan (IEP) to advocate for student needs.
504 Chairperson for school site. Responsible for date compliance, parent meetings, and the creation of
plans for the students
Engages families through workshops or information sessions about mental health, college readiness,
and other relevant topics at least 1 time per quarter.
Leads initiatives to reduce bullying and promote kindness and respect among students including classes,
presenters, newsletters.
Recognizes and celebrates student successes through awards, shout-outs, or newsletters.
Adheres to the ASCA Ethical Standards for School Counselors.
Respects confidentiality while balancing the need to share information appropriately.
Regularly engages in professional development to stay updated on best practices in student advocacy
and support.
Actively participates on the Threat Assessment Team
Monitors the adherence to the schools’ vision and mission
Provide continuous and timely parent communications in person, by phone and email
Adhere to all due dates and deadlines by the school district as well as ones provided by the LG Principal
Project a positive attitude
Attend school functions
Comply and enforce all outlined procedures found in the staff and student handbooks and the LG23
Comply with any other request of the Principal or Designee of the Principal
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $48,000.00 - $66,000.00 per year
