What are the responsibilities and job description for the Preschool Teacher position at Learning Ladders Child Development Center?
We are seeking a Teacher with Preschool certification to provide versatility to the center and other lead teachers. (Must be able to start work immediately upon clearance & provide copies of certifications)
Must be passionate about the intellectual and emotional development of children. You will teach and supervise them while also motivating them to use their mental capacities and exercise their imagination.
Mandatory Requirement: The applicant must get health screenings and undergo background checks for FBI and State criminal histories in addition to child abuse and neglect clearances. NOTE: Please note that you must be CLEARED by OCC before you begin work!!
Required certification**: CPR/AED First Aid, Medication Administration Management, Approved training in supporting breastfeeding practices (Infant/Toddler). · At least 9 clock hours of approved training in communicating with staff, parents and the public · 3 clock hours in ADA Compliance. COVID-19 Training and Basic Health & Safety Training.
**ALL CERTIFICATIONS MUST BE CURRENT (NOT CLOSE TO EXPIRATION) AND COPIES PROVIDED WITH RESUME’ …”NO NEED TO APPLY IF THIS CRITERIA IS NOT MET!” If you have been previously evaluated by OCC, please provide a copy of your Form 1207 MSDE/OCC "Personnel Qualification Evaluation" (formerly the orange card).
Qualifications:
- Experience as a childcare / daycare teacher, excellent knowledge of child development, methodical and creative, patience, flexibility, love for children, strong communication and time management skills. Design and follow a full schedule of activities and discover suitable teaching material
- Works closely with the center’s director to create a program that addresses the specific needs of the children assigned to her/his care and assist with enrollment drives and fundraisers
- Remain in constant communication with parents and update them on the progress of their children
- Observe children’s interactions and promote the spirit of concord
- Identify behavioral problems and determine the right course of action
- Collaborate with other colleagues
- Adhere with teaching standards and safety regulations as established by the official sources
- Meet all applicable licensing requirements.
- Bilingual is a plus, but not required
