Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Support Broker to assist individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities who receive Self-Directed Services under the Medicaid Waiver Program. Support Brokerage provides individuals with the information and assistance they need to secure the Self-Directed Supports and services they choose. Self-Directed Supports is a service delivery option available to individuals living in their own private residence or in the home of a family member.
Firmly rooted in the principles of self-determination, Self-Directed Supports is built on the belief that individuals—and their representatives, when applicable—are the most knowledgeable about their own needs and how to best meet them. The role of the Support Broker is to empower individuals to make informed decisions, exercise control, and take an active role in directing the services they receive.
Classification: Non-Exempt, Full Time position
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist individuals and their families in navigating and implementing Self-Directed Services (SDS).
- Guide and support participants in understanding and fulfilling the responsibilities of self-direction.
- Ensure compliance with Medicaid Waiver Program requirements and documentation standards.
- Support individuals in managing budgets, hiring staff, and coordinating services.
- Serve as a liaison between participants, fiscal intermediaries, and other service providers.
- Provide ongoing education and support to promote informed decision-making and independence.
- Utilizes technology to perform job duties.

- A Bachelor’s degree in any field is preferred; however, relevant work experience may be substituted meeting DMH requirements.
- Knowledge of the Medicaid Waiver Program and Self-Directed Services preferred.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in a human services field.
- Ability to pass all appropriate/ required background screenings
- Must have current, valid Missouri Driver License and be willing to obtain a Class E (chauffeur's license) upon hire.
- Must possess a reliable vehicle.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities.
- Proficient in documentation and maintaining compliance standards.
- Able to perform all essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.
