Summer Program MS Reading/Writing Teacher (July 7-25)

Learning Prep School in Newton, MA is seeking a passionate and dedicated Middle School Reading/Writing Teacher for our 15-day summer program (July 7th-25th).

• Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30 AM - 2:30 PM, with additional paid prep and report writing time.

MS Reading/Writing Teacher Essential Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging reading instruction focused on comprehension skills (visualization, paraphrasing, and identifying main ideas).
• Guide students in making inferences, predicting outcomes, and tracking character development through discussions.
• Reinforce grammar concepts (nouns, adjectives, verbs) and sentence structure (simple and compound).
• Lead structured writing activities to strengthen written expression and communication skills.
• Provide individualized support and accommodations to meet students’ diverse learning needs.
• Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to reinforce student learning and social development.
• Create a structured, supportive classroom environment that encourages participation and prevents academic regression.
• Complete prep and report writing to track student progress.
