As of January 31st, a terrific law firm in the New York City area seeks a Human Resources Director to work closely with attorneys, staff, and firm leadership. This role will involve:
- Play a strategic and hands-on role regarding performance management, staff development, and employee relations.
- Partnering with firm leadership on all people-related initiatives while enhance employee engagement and management effectiveness.
- Coordinating with external vendors on benefits enrollment, plan changes, and negotiations for annual renewals.
- Conducting performance reviews, recommending bonus/merit increases, determining performance improvement plans, and conducting exit/departure procedures.
- Managing and mentoring two direct reports as well as advising other departmental managers on HR best practices.
- Overseeing the talent acquisition process for professional staff.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree and 10 years of progressive HR leadership experience in a law firm or professional services setting.
- Well-versed in all state and federal employment regulations as well as general HR best practices.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to exercise a professional, diplomatic, and strategic approach.
- Extremely detail-oriented and capable of excelling in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
- Well-versed in benefits administration and related best practices.
