This role is for Day Shift: Mon-Thurs, 4:00am - 2:30pm.

Position Summary
Operate and set up various Punch Presses (Fineblank Presses, Conventional presses), and support equipment to achieve production of parts to manufacturing component prints.
Essential Functions:
- Operate all presses in the area.
- Perform difficult set-ups and changeovers on presses to close and complex tolerances.
- Monitor output and proper operation of equipment. Makes mechanical and/or program adjustments to ensure parts are meeting quantity and quality requirements as necessary.
- Partner with die maintenance on complex troubleshooting issues.
- Conduct regular quality audits of parts produced by measuring and inspecting components to tight tolerances. This includes visual defects, pits, scratches, die break, die tear, incomplete stamp details, and any other specifications.
- Load and unload coils of steel.
- Operate and clean stock straighteners.
- Clean and lubricate machines following manufacturer standards and procedures.
- Operate CMM and enter CMM data.
- Fill out and complete all necessary forms and documents.
- Operate various powered industrial trucks (forklifts, electric pallet jacks).
- Operate overhead and jib cranes.
- Perform routine TPM on all required equipment.
Additional Functions:
- Prepare recommendations to modify processes to improve productivity and quality.
- Perform duties of Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 operator as necessary.
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Basic knowledge and understanding of Fineblank and progressive die operation and components.
- Two years formal technical training and one year work experience in manufacturing environment or three years technical job experience with progressively complex machining assignments required, five years preferred.
- Forklift and crane experience preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Level 1 and 2 operations in related work area.
- Advanced machine operation and mechanical knowledge including the ability to set up and change over various types of equipment required.
- Basic knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and production systems preferred.
- Ability to effectively utilize basic shop math skills required.
- Ability to read, comprehend, speak and write English at a level to effectively utilize and interpret MSDS’s, work instructions, and technical manuals.
- Advanced inspection and measuring skills required, including knowledge of measuring devices including optical comparators, hardness testers, and height gauges.
- Basic blueprint reading and computer skills required.
- Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) required.
- Demonstrated skills in rate control required.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will frequently sit; use hands to handle, grasp, or keyboard; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear. The employee occasionally stands or walks; climbs; stoops or crouches; and pushes/pulls. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
The employee frequently lifts and/or moves up to 55 lbs. The employee frequently pushes/pulls an average of 40 lbs., and occasionally pushes/pulls up to 70 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
Working Conditions/Physical Hazards
While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently exposed to production environment. Work area is clean and well-lit. All employees are expected to adhere to Company safety policies and wear personal protective equipment when exposed to work areas or performing tasks where it is required.
