Salary: Based on USD 453 Salary Schedule
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field (Master's preferred).
- Valid Kansas State Teaching Certification for K-12, with appropriate ESOL endorsement.
- Proven experience in the classroom with a track record of fostering student achievement and engagement for English language learners.
- Knowledge of current best practices in instructional design and classroom management.
- Proficiency in utilizing educational technology and district-approved tools.
- Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to adapt to a dynamic educational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Instructional Planning & Delivery: Design and implement engaging lesson plans that meet district standards and cater to diverse student needs. Ensure clear, measurable learning objectives are communicated and adjust instructional strategies based on ongoing assessments and student progress.
- Classroom Management & Student Engagement: Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages collaboration and student participation. Establish clear expectations for behavior and academic performance, and proactively manage classroom dynamics to support student engagement and learning.
- Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with colleagues, parents, and administrators to address student needs and foster academic success. Regularly communicate student progress and concerns through meetings, reports, and other forms of communication to ensure a team approach to student development.
- Student Support & Development: Provide individualized academic, behavioral, and social-emotional support for students. Collaborate with specialists to implement interventions, mentor students, and encourage personal and academic growth to develop lifelong learning skills.
- Compliance & Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student attendance, progress, and other required documentation. Ensure compliance with district policies and state or federal regulations while preparing and submitting necessary reports.
- Professional Development & Growth: Engage in continuous professional growth by attending workshops, conferences, and training sessions. Actively seek feedback and integrate new teaching strategies and research to improve instructional effectiveness and stay current in the field.
- Other Duties: Participate in school activities, events, and other district initiatives as assigned. Perform other duties as assigned by the administration to contribute to the success and culture of the school community.
Physical Requirements/Environmental Conditions:
- Ability to enter data into a computer, and to see and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids.
- Ability to hear and understand speech at normal classroom or office levels and on the telephone.
- Ability to speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly in normal classrooms, office spaces, and on the telephone.
- Ability to bend, stoop, reach overhead, and perform other physical tasks related to classroom setup and activities.
- Physical agility to lift up to 25 pounds to shoulder height and 50 pounds to waist height as needed for classroom activities and student support.
