70% 1. Directs the operations of the election office to maintain ethical standards of the election process. Maintain voter registration information for voters within the county. Administer the absentee voting process. Assist with election setup. Maintain voter registration rolls.
10% 2. Answer phones and Customer Service.
10% 3. Assist in preparations of state and local reports.
10% 4. Programming of election equipment
SCOPE
Responsible for obtaining and maintain a thorough knowledge of federal, state and local election laws and regulations. Assists with the programming, charging, testing and preparations needed for election equipment. Assist with locate, evaluate and schedule sites for voting locations. Assist with recruiting, training and scheduling of part-time election workers. Develop and implements election procedures and processes.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
1. Knowledge of department policies and procedures.
2. Knowledge of the federal, state and local election laws.
3. Knowledge of the Election Voter Information System.
4. Knowledge of basic bookkeeping and accounting procedures.
5. Knowledge of election equipment and supplies.
6. Knowledge of computer systems and techniques
7. Knowledge of reading/interpreting computer data output to obtain necessary data and/or correct
errors.
8. Knowledge of personal computer use and associated database and Excel software
application.
9. Skill in maintaining accurate records and proofreading documents.
10. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with public, other governmental agencies, and other employees.
11. Ability to coordinate the distribution of ballots and supplies to voting sites.
12. Cross trained with all other departmental positions. Job contributes to the overall smooth
function of the Clerk’s office.

5. Utilize election training and/or experience.
6. Contributes to the overall smooth function of the Clerk’s Office.
ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS
Work is performed in a modern office setting.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must have a High School diploma/GED, one year of college-level accounting courses or two years of accounting related experience preferred. Employee is expected to have acquired the necessary skills to preform the job reasonably well within six months to one year of employment. ADA/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
1. Must be adequate for data entry, checking documents, proofreading, taking messages by written documentation or email.
2. Must be adequate for telephone communications and normal conversations.
3. Must be able to speak English clearly and to accept a multitude of telephone calls clearly
4. 10% of the time – making copies and talking to people who come in for information.
5. 5% of the time – taking messages to employees (only when necessary), making copies.
6. 85% of the time – while answering telephone calls, taking messages, typing, computer use.
7. 15 pounds – very little lifting (supplies, maps, books, files).
8. 10 pounds – minor pushing and pulling (chairs, cabinets).
9. Climbing on foot stool for supplies in storeroom.
10. Some stooping required, as well as crouching, when filing and retrieving information.
11. Required on most tasks.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.91 - $31.55 per hour
