What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sanitation Manager position at Leavitt Corporation?
Essential Functions:
Executes instructions from and communicates with the Vice President of Compliance to ensure that proper sanitary conditions of the plant and its equipment are met.
Submits plans and proposals for approval to upper management to run a cleaning shift on Saturdays or to extend hours (pre or post shift hours) when more time is needed to complete task.
Trains employees on SOPs.
Issues job assignments to employees assigned to the sanitation department based on established cleaning schedules.
Orders cleaning supplies (soaps, mops, brooms etc.)
Reviews completed cleaning schedule and job assignments to verify that all work is completed properly as per schedule.
Communicates clearly to the Manager of Maintenance Operations the overlapping needs of the sanitation department.
Communicates with Human Resources, Quality Assurance, Production, Purchasing, and Shipping where needed.
Assumes the responsibilities of the sanitation supervisor in his or her absences.
Examples of work:
Has janitorial duties performed in the facility including offices and rest rooms.
Has processing equipment cleaned and sanitized.
Has floors swept and washed.
Has walls cleaned and washed.
Washing, wiping and dusting covers, pipes and other equipment.
Fills out weekly drain schedule.
Calls for dumpster removal.
Training:
Must complete in-house training on all SOPs needed for the position.
May be crossed trained on SOPs that are not specific to his/her department or the duties as sanitation manager.
May be required to attend off site training or other types of educational programs related to the position.
Other Functions:
Works with other departments and its employees that are necessary to achieve established goals.
Required to be involved in the Leavitt Food Safety Program.
Recommend equipment and develop changes in sanitation to improve in the overall sanitary condition of the plant.
Perform any other function that requires sanitation expertise.
Responsible for having a clean, safe, and orderly work area and office.
Required to be a member of the Safety Committee.
Required to be available to open up, close down and set and unset the security system of the building when needed
Interviews candidates for employment.
Notifies the Manager of Maintenance Operations and/or shipping personnel the status of waste water.
Cognitive Requirements (including but limited to):
Able to follow instructions.
Basic math skills (including being able to use a calculator).
Basic computer skills involving word processing, e-mail, and some spreadsheet.
Problem solving.
