The Opportunity
Leavitt Machinery is looking for a Field Technician (Heavy Equipment or Automotive) to join our team in Portland, Oregon.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
As the Field Technician your key responsibilities will include:
- Perform work as assigned by the Dispatcher and/or Chargehand
- Diagnose and complete repairs in a timely manner, providing a variety of repair options that best meet customer needs; failure analysis may be required
- Fill out all necessary timecards for each job, documenting customer damage where required
- Identify any potential problems that may result in machine downtime to best maintain the equipment for both our retail and internal customers
- Partner with the Parts department to identify and order parts where required, while adhering to the Parts and Service Agreement
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills, knowledge, and competencies:
- Previous aerial platform and lift truck experience considered an asset
- Relevant Trade Certification is an asset
- Strong mechanical ability and problem-solving skills
- A valid driver's license is required
- An excellent work ethic and a positive attitude
- Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to travel to customer sites within the local region as needed
