Leavitt Machinery is looking for an organized Freight Coordinator to join our team in Phoenix, Arizona. As the Freight Coordinator, you will coordinate freight for all equipment for our rental customers, and work with the Rental department to ensure smooth and efficient delivery and return of rented equipment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
As the Freight Coordinator, your key responsibilities will include:
- Provide transportation quotes to customers and the Sales and Service departments and collect transport costs for rental equipment
- Schedule freight deliveries and returns in the most efficient and cost-effective manner
- Coordinate and execute maintenance schedules and repairs for freight vehicles
- Coordinate with third party providers to supply transportation to our customers as needed
- Track the use of Leavitt-owned freight trucks, ensuring cost reconciliation and optimal utilization
- Assess market rates to ensure freight is charged effectively
- Ensure driver credentials adhere to company requirements
- Assist the Rental department with drafting contracts and arranging repairs for returned equipment as needed
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills, knowledge, and competencies:
- 1-3 years of related dispatching or logistics work experience
- Strong knowledge of the territory for pickup and delivery of equipment
- Working knowledge of material handling equipment is a strong asset
- Strong proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize and multitask in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Self-starter with the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
