The Opportunity
Leavitt Machinery is looking for a Lead Service Dispatcher to join our team in Portland, Oregon. As the Lead Service Dispatcher, you will oversee a team of dispatchers, handling time-off requests, monitoring job performance, and leading training and career development initiatives.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
As the Lead Service Dispatcher your key responsibilities will include:
- Schedule, coordinate, and assign jobs for Service Technicians
- Develop and communicate weekly goals and targets to the Service team
- Conduct bi-weekly meetings with team members to review new processes, address concerns, and to provide coaching and training
- Hold monthly meetings to review open jobs within your region
- Regularly evaluate phone calls and provide feedback to team members
- Partner with Service Dispatchers to ensure effective use of all provided tools, including the service scheduler, AX cues, and GPS tracking system to improve operational efficiency
- Provide after-hours support for service calls within your region
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills, knowledge, and competencies:
- Post-secondary education in Sales, Business, Management, or a related discipline
- Previous experience in a similar role is preferred
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is required
- Mechanical knowledge of heavy machinery equipment an asset
- Proven experience working and leading in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment
- Superior organizational skills, planning skills, and ability to prioritize tasks
- Confident self-starter and team player
- Proven ability to communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization
- Ability to travel within the region would be an asset
