Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our medical staff and providing excellent patient service. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and various healthcare systems. The Medical Assistant will assist in both clinical and administrative tasks, ensuring a smooth workflow in our facility.
Duties
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures.
- Perform basic life support and emergency medicine procedures as needed.
- Maintain accurate patient records and manage electronic health systems.
- Provide care for geriatric patients, ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Conduct patient intake, including taking vital signs and medical histories.
- Educate patients on inhalation techniques and medication usage.
- Collaborate with nursing staff in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with health regulations and maintain a clean working environment.
Requirements
- Certification as a Medical Assistant or equivalent experience in a healthcare setting.
- Knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology is essential.
- Experience or familiarity with X-Ray procedures is preferred.
- Strong communication skills with an emphasis on patient service.
- Ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations, particularly in emergency medicine settings.
- A compassionate approach to caring for patients, especially geriatrics.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems is advantageous.
- Basic life support certification is required; advanced certifications are a plus.
