Position Title: Long Term Carpentry Substitute Teacher

Program: Carpentry CIP 46.0201

Location: Lebanon County Career and Technology Center

The Lebanon County Career and Technology Center (LCCTC) is now accepting applicants for a long-term substitute position for a Carpentry Teacher. This is a full-time temporary position.

Performance Responsibilities: The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to the following fundamental duties:

· Establish standards for classroom behavior and safety that support the school's discipline and safety programs.

· Identify and select teaching and learning materials that correlate to the task list and are in line with current industry certifications and standards, as well as approved by the occupational advisory committee.

· Plan lessons for each competency that are defined by clear performance standards, competency procedures and learning steps.

· Communicate, promote and support the benefits of CTSO's including Pennsylvania Builders Association and SkillsUSA.

· Communicate with administration, parents, and support staff personnel as necessary concerning pupil progress.

· Create a classroom environment and model behavior that promotes professionalism, courtesy, positive attitude, support and empathy.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Experience shall include:
• Carpentry, roofing, siding, insulation work, drywall installation and finishing, mill work, cement finishing, remodeling, general contracting, cabinetmaking
• Knowledge and use of the following: hand tools, power tools, blueprint reading, site preparation and layout, footings and foundations, framing floor construction, framing wall construction, framing roof construction, exterior finish, interior finish and estimation

· Computer experience is necessary

• High school diploma, along with formal training in Carpentry
• Must have a minimum of four years of full-time, wage-earning experience in Carpentry or Two year of full-time wage-earning experience and a bachelor’s degree
