What are the responsibilities and job description for the Paraeducator position at Lebanon Middle School?
Job Overview: Lebanon Middle School is seeking a full time Paraeducator to work with the ability to build relationships with students and to work as a collaborative member of a professional learning multi-disciplinary team, and other duties as outlined in the LSS Professional Agreement. This vacancy is for the 2025-2026 school year and beyond.
The regular work schedule is 7 hours a day, Monday-Friday with a 30-minute duty-free lunch. Paraeducators perform a duty (morning or afternoon) and cover recess for the classroom.
Paraeducator I & II Certification preferred, but not required.
General Job Goals: - To assist the staff/related service providers in achieving instructional objectives. - To facilitate the participation of all students in the general curriculum and to develop their abilities to function independently. - To assist collaborating teacher(s) in facilitating the personal, social, and intellectual growth of student(s). - Participation in professional learning opportunities. - Flexibility in working in a variety of school settings and possible travel to alternative locations as necessary. Pay: - Based on LSS Collective Bargaining Agreement salary schedule.
Physical Demands: - While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to have good physical agility which requires the following-bending, sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, standing for long periods of time, lift up to 20 pounds, good dexterity, ability to reach, depth perception, color/peripheral/close vision ability to adjust focus.
