What are the responsibilities and job description for the Adult Probation Officer position at Lebanon Municipal Court?
Report directly to the Director of Court Administration and Probation. Essential functions of this position include supervision of individuals placed on community control following misdemeanor convictions. Perform drug screens, arrests, assessments, develop case plans and utilize evidence-based practices to facilitate change, enforce compliance with court orders, prepare reports, testify, monitor compliance with outside agencies, make recommendations to Judge, court appearances, perform home visits/work checks. Requires completion of Ohio's Probation Officer Training, ongoing yearly training, and a 6-month probation period. Firearms training available but not required. Requires professional appearance and behavior, moderate computer skills, excellent communication skills, problem solving skills, organizational skills, empathy, compassion, patience, and the desire to help people. Must maintain confidentiality with sensitive material. Post-offer requirements: pre-employment drug screen, physical, psychological exam, Computerized Voice Stress Analyzer Test, and background check.
