What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-Time Custodian (Floating Shift) position at Lebanon School District (SAU 88)?
Job Overview:
The Lebanon School District is looking for a part-time Custodian to work in a “floater” capacity. The ideal candidate will need to be able to work independently, perform physical labor, communicate verbally and in writing, have some computer skills, have the ability to plan work around changing priorities, and be a team player. The regular work schedule is 4 hours a day, Monday-Friday for a total of 20 hours per week. Shift would vary based on operational needs; 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift.
Custodians must also have prior experience in custodial work or any equivalent combination
of experience and training which provides the following knowledge, abilities, and skills:
- Working knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment
- Making minor repairs and adjustments to a building's fixtures and equipment
- Ability to recognize unsafe hazards and report them promptly to the Director of Facilities
Requirements:
- Must pass a state and federal criminal background check
- Must have a positive attitude and great work ethic
- High School diploma or equivalent
Benefits:
- This part-time position is not eligible for most benefits. Part-time employees scheduled to work at least 20 hours but less than 30 hours per week, who subscribe to the health insurance plan shall receive $1,500 towards payment of the medical premium. The employee shall pay the difference.
Pay:
- Based on LSS Collective Bargaining Agreement salary schedule.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, lift and carry items. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items weighing up to 50 pounds. The employee must be able to drive and/or tow various equipment to include but not be limited to pickup trucks, landscaping tractors, fork lifts, sand-spreaders. Specific vision ability required by this job includes close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
